ONE NEWS NOW
MESSAGE TO CHAPLAINS:
IGNORE MIKEY

Msg to chaplains: Stand firm, trust God - and ignore Mikey

Thursday, July 9, 2015

Selected Article Excerpts

  • In the wake of last month's 5-4 Supreme Court decision that mandated same-sex "marriage" across all 50 states, homosexual activists and their supporters have become emboldened. So have anti-faith activists like Mikey Weinstein, president of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, who is calling for the ouster of any military chaplain who maintains a securely held belief that marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman.

  • "Mikey Weinstein wrote an op-ed calling for all, as he called it, 'homophobic' chaplains to fold up their uniforms and resign from the military," says Crews. "[He said] there was no place for them any longer anywhere in the military, which is just absolutely absurd. He's talking about 80 to 90 percent of the chaplains currently serving."

Homosexuals Now Want The US Government To Fire Any Military Chaplain Who Opposes Homosexuality

Friday, July 10, 2015

Selected Article Excerpts

  • In a strongly worded opinion piece published on the Daily Kos website following the Supreme Court decision allowing same-sex marriage throughout the country, Mikey Weinstein of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) even described chaplains who practi[c]e their Christian faith and object to homosexuality as "losers."

  • In his editorial piece, Weinstein said “the only honourable thing that these losers can do is to fold up their uniforms, turn in their papers, and get the [expletive] out of the American military chaplaincy.”

  • He also accused Christian military chaplains of bigotry and prejudice against homosexuals.

  • There are several reason as to why the homosexuals want to create a godless military. There is a demonic conspiracy involved here. The make the military absence of any Christian influence would cripple the military both morally and spiritually. The great majority of soldiers are religious, especially Christian. To some how enervate orthodox Christian influence in the military would weaken the religious morale and the spiritual guidance they so love.

Atheists demand Navy chaplain. Should they get one?

Thursday, July 9, 2015

Selected Article Excerpts

  • They've sued over war memorials with religious symbols, calling them "foul" and "sectarian." They want the phrase "under God" out of the Pledge. They oppose the National Day of Prayer. They celebrate "Kids Without God," pushing public campaigns that mock teens of faith for having "imaginary friends." And they've even teamed up with folks like Mikey Weinstein at Military Religious Freedom Foundation, who accuses military chaplains expressing their faith of "spiritual rape," saying they "should be punished" for "sedition and treason."

  • What's wrong with all this? Absolutely nothing. The Becket Fund fully supports the right of atheists to spread their message the same way as everyone else—be it through lawsuits in court or ads on the public transit system. While we would never endorse their anti-religious messaging, we do endorse their right to say it. And certainly we agree that atheists, like many patriotic Americans, have the right to serve their country in the military. If they want to serve as a counselors or in some other capacity supporting soldier morale, their anti-religious atheism should not preclude them.
