DISGRACEFUL RESPONSE FROM COLONEL FELTMAN TO MRFF's DEMAND IN PETERSON AFB's
FLAWED INVESTIGATION

Mr. Weinstein,

Thank you for your concern regarding religious liberties at the Reserve National Security Space Institute.  As pledged, I have reviewed the situation there.  I have concluded that no abuse of liberties has occurred, and Maj Lewis's behavior and the workplace environment at the RNSSI are well within the provisions of Air Force Instruction 1-1, Air Force Standards, paragraphs 2.11 and 2.12, "Free Exercise of Religion and Religious Accommodation" and "Balance of Free Exercise of Religion and Establishment Clause."

Hi there, Colonel Feltman.

We at MRFF only really have one quick inquiry to broach with you about your outrageously wrong "conclusion" allowing Major Steve Lewis to continue his brazenly illicit and wholly unconstitutional Christian proselytizing utilizing his open Christian bible static display in the center of his USAF-provided work desk in his open bay office location for all of his USAF subordinates to see and "enjoy".

You know how a military unit commander can often be likened to the quarterback on a football team, eh? Sure you do, Damon. For instance, you are the Commander of the 310th Space Wing where Colonel Lisa Johnson works directly under you. And, Colonel Lisa Johnson is the Commander of the Reserve National Security Space Institute where the bible-displaying king, Major Steve Lewis, works directly under her.

Anyway, with the foregoing analogy firmly in mind, here's that one quick question we have for you to answer:

Do you think it would have been a real good idea for the National Football League (NFL) to have designated New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady to have "reviewed" the "Deflate-gate" scandal for the NFL? You know, Damon, just like how YOU chose Colonel Lisa Johnson to "review" her very OWN actions in the current Major Steve Lewis bible displaying scandal?

Hey, good thing there's no separation of "football and state" in the Constitution, right, Colonel Feltman?

This matter is hardly over. Let's see what happens now, when an actual disinterested, third party DoD investigator, with NO glaringly obvious conflict of interest, takes a good, hard look at the utter disgrace you've done here, brother.

COL. FELTMAN

Officer Cleared in Military
Bible Complaint

Tuesday, August 23, 2016

First, I want to commend Col. Damon Feltman, the commander of the 310th Space Wing. Unlike many military personnel, he refused to be bullied by Mr. Weinstein. He investigated the complaint, found that it was without merit and allowed the major to carry on.

Second, I want to commend Maj. Lewis for setting a Christ-like example. He did not create a fuss. He did as he was instructed to do and allowed the system to work. [...]

CHRISTIAN EXAMINER COVERS MRFF

After investigation, Air Force officer CAN have Bible at his desk

Wednesday, August 24, 2016

COLORADO SPRINGS (Christian Examiner) – The U.S. Air Force has ruled that an officer at Peterson Air Force Base who had an open Bible on his desk was not in violation of military regulations and the Bible can return to where it was.

Last week, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation – led by former Air Force officer Mikey Weinstein, who claims Christians are trying to take over the military and subvert the Constitution – alleged the presence of the open Bible with highlighted passages was an act of coercion on the enlisted personnel who came near the officer's workstation.
