DoD Official Personally Thanks Mikey/MRFF for Promptly Addressing "Inappropriately" Loud, Public Bible Study Held Weekly in Pentagon

From: MRFF Pentagon Client’s E-Mail Address Withheld
Subject: Thank You For The Help at the Pentagon
Date: September 1, 2017 at 12:03:51 PM MDT
To: Mikey Weinstein <[email protected]>

Dear Mr. Weinstein,

I want to take a moment to thank you personally for your prompt response and supportive engagement with my recent complaint of an inappropriately loud bible study that takes place in the busiest parts of the Pentagon on a weekly basis. From my initial contact with you it was clear to me that you would deal with it swiftly, competently and without compromising my anonymity. I was also very pleased that you kept me abreast of what you and the foundation were doing with the complaint daily! Less than a week from our first conversation, I believe we’ve found an appropriate solution to the situation. I’m truly amazed at how deftly you navigate the complexity of the military, with its behemoth statutory and regulatory backdrop as well as the multitude and diversity of stakeholders and other key players who influence (both positively and negatively) religious freedom in our armed forces. This personal experience I’ve had with MRFF has confirmed what I’ve already known from following your cases for years. You and the foundation are very effective at what you do, whether it’s researching or lawyering, or testifying before Congress. More importantly, you recognize and unfailingly uphold the anonymity of your clients who, sadly, still have to worry about retaliation when they decide to throw the BS card on the table and come to you with a complaint. Thank you most sincerely for your help with my case and for everything you do to support our Soldiers, Seamen, Airmen, Marines and DoD Civilians and the vital role they play in defending the Nation and our Constitution.

Note Sent to Mikey by MRFF Client at Phoenix VA Hospital:

From: MRFF VA Client’s E-Mail Address Withheld
Subject: Phoenix VA Hospital

To: "[email protected]"

Dear Mikey,

My name is (name withheld) and I am a (job title and position withheld) for the Phoenix VA Hospital. On the afternoon of July 11, 2017, I took a break from work and went to the VA Canteen for a snack. On my way to the store, I noticed a Grand Canyon University table was set up and a woman was distributing pamphlets in regarding the religious for-profit university. This is not the first time the Phoenix VA has allowed the pushing of religious institutions on federal property. I knew Mikey and the Military Religious Freedom Foundation would be quick to take action because they have assisted me in another case against the VA in October of 2016. After two months of trying to resolve the issue with the VA Resolution Support Team, I am pleased to announce that a mass email has been sent out to all employees in regards to for-profit universities. The email gives the statute to the United States Code 38 CFR 3683 on Conflicting Interests with for-profit educational institutions. Since the releasing of the email, I have not seen Grand Canyon University operating a distribution table in the hallways of the Carl T. Hayden Phoenix VA Hospital in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. I want to thank Mikey Weinstein and the people at the Military Religious Freedom Foundation for the relentless effort in contacting the useless (Senior VA Position Title and name withheld) who did nothing in regards to this issue, and the other issue in October of 2016. Moving forward, I would like to encourage junior enlisted and commissioned military personnel, and VA employees, to stand up against the pushing of religion in our government. Thank you again, Mikey, for the direction and guidance that has led to the publishing of the mass email for all VA employees to see. You guys ROCK!

With respect,
(MRFF VA Client’s name, Job Title and Position Withheld)
