Appreciation from Mikey Weinstein to Trae Crowder:

I can't speak highly enough of Trae, who kindly took the time to create a video which conveys, in his own authentic and hilarious style, what MRFF strives to achieve for our nearly 52,000 servicemembers and veterans.

MRFF and I are incredibly grateful to Trae for taking the time to offer his perspective on MRFF with his expansive, like-minded, progressive fanbase about our fight.

From the bottom of our hearts: MRFF thanks you. Keep being you, and keep doing what you do.

You're a redneck AND a rockstar, Trae!

Background on Trae Crowder

"Trae Crowder grew up in Celina, TN, a town sometimes described as having “more liquor stores than traffic lights” (2-0 as of the last count). Like most people from the deep rural south, Crowder grew up with an affinity for literature, film, blacks and gays.

In 1998, at the age of 12 and after seeing Chris Rock on HBO, he decided he wanted to be a comedian. Recently earning national attention (or notoriety, depending on your viewpoint) for his “Liberal Redneck” series of viral videos, Trae Crowder had been performing his particular brand of Southern-fried intellectual comedy in the Southeast for the past six years. Now he tours nationally as part of the wellRED comedy tour with his writing and drinking partners,
Corey and Drew."

Additional background:

Trae is renowned on the comedy circuit nationwide,
and is a published author, having cowritten
The Liberal Redneck Manifesto: Draggin' Dixie Outta the Dark
with his comedy cohorts, Corey Ryan Forrester
and Drew Morgan.

On January 1, 2017, Crowder publicly announced through his Twitter account, "My wife's packin our butter tubs for our move to LA. I'll be workin on my @FOXTV sitcom Skeew!"

Trae has appeared on shows The View and Real Time with Bill Maher, and has also amassed millions of viral online video views. Trae's "porch rants" on YouTube offer, in causal parlance, his opinions on controversial current events from what he calls his "liberal redneck" perspective and his audience absolutely loves it.

Not only is Trae entertaining, conveying ideas in a comically blunt fashion that breaks through preconceived notions and biases, but he is an enlightened individual with a knack for approaching topics in a way that hits home for people on the politically moderate end who have grown up in a culture normally adhering to traditional,
conservative points of view.
