Todd Starnes: Air Force surrenders to demand to replace Bible with generic 'book of faith' on POW/MIA table

Thursday, July 19, 2018

The commander of F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming has agreed to replace a Bible on a POW/MIA table with a generic "book of faith," the Military Religious Freedom Foundation revealed this week. The MRFF is a militant organization that has fought against Nativity scenes, Bible studies and any outward expressions of the Christian faith on U.S. military installations.

The head of the foundation, Mikey Weinstein, wrote in the HuffPost that he is dedicated to fighting "virulent religious oppression" carried out by "incredibly well-funded gangs of fundamentalist Christian monsters who terrorize their fellow Americans by forcing their weaponized and twisted version of Christianity upon their helpless subordinates in our nation's armed forces."

The MRFF alleges that as many as 36 unnamed clients at the Air Force base in Wyoming have complained about the inclusion of the Bible on the table honoring prisoners of war and missing comrades.

"Our MRFF clients under Col. (Stacy) Huser's command remain resolute in their most fervent objection to this blatant display of fundamentalist Christian supremacy, domination and exceptionalism," Weinstein wrote in a letter to the military.

The Air Force base decided to temporarily rotate the Bible with books from other faiths until it could be permanently replaced with a "book of faith," the MRFF said on its website Tuesday.

Air Force Base Defends Replacing Bible with Generic "Book of Faith"

Thursday, July 19, 2018

The commander at F.E. Warren Air Force Base is defending her decision to remove a Bible from a POW-MIA table and replace it with a generic "book of faith."

Col. Stacy Jo Huser, the 90th Missile Wing commander, tells the Todd Starnes Radio Show that the Bible was removed to insure "the religious and non-religious feel included and cared for."

The Bible was removed following complaints from the Military Religious Freedom Foundation.

MRFF STATEMENT: MRFF's Bible Removal Victory Pisses off Faux Fox News, yet again!

Thursday, July 19, 2018

In Todd Starnes' new opinion piece on Foxnews.com, the vocal detractor calls MRFF a "militant organization" rather than "atheist organization." MRFF lawyers sent several letters to Starnes demanding he cease and desist from deliberately describing MRFF incorrectly as an Atheist group. Looks like the letters worked.

Todd Starnes implores his minions to "urge the Trump administration to defend the POW/MIA tables." Hey, Todd, you can certainly try, little fellow!  It's true our Caligula in Chief has a disgusting disregard for the Constitution and he's OCD for getting his information from "Faux News"…But MRFF suspects he has enough deserved train-wrecks of his own to worry about, for now.  In the meantime, MRFF will continue to fight to defend and uphold the Constitutionally guaranteed rights for ALL of our Servicemembers!!!!

MRFF Client at Buffalo VA Medical Center Sends Thank You Email
to Mikey After Bibles'
Prompt Removal

*Emphasis added by MRFF editor*

From: [Buffalo VA MRFF Client(s) Name(s) Withheld]
Date: July 18, 2018
To: Mikey Weinstein
Subject: POW/MIA table at VA Buffalo

Mikey,

I'd like to thank you and the MRFF for your immediate response to my note to you regarding the placement of two bibles on the POW/MIA table at the VA Medical Center in Buffalo, NY.  Those who suffered and endured the hellish hardships of being a prisoner of war and those who have died in captivity and are still missing are rightly remembered and honored by this meaningful display — may it be a comfort to their families to know that we all share their loss and sorrow and will keep their memory alive.

The men and women who have served our country reflect the great diversity and strength of our democracy. POWs/MIAs are from those of all faiths and those who have no religious beliefs.  Placing a bible on the table denies the sacrifice of those of all other faiths or of no faith.  To me it seems to say to those of other or of no faiths, "Your sacrifice doesn't count;" or, "it is of lesser or no value compared to those of our faith."
Or perhaps those who place a bible on this display are indifferent to the sacrifice made by non-Christians.

I have had the honor of serving my country of nearly 40 years, serving as a [names, titles, ranks withheld] I have repeatedly seen the dedication and patriotism to our country of persons of multiple religious faiths and those having no specific religious faith — their willingness to dedicate their lives and endure family separation and physical hardships for our freedoms—indeed, to "support and defend the constitution of the United States."  Over one year ago, when I saw the bible on the POW/MIA table I felt both hurt and angry — but I said nothing.  At my last visit to the Buffalo, VA medical center, there were two bibles on the table!  One was quite large and nearly dominated the entire display.  I felt obligated to contact the MRFF.

After writing to the MRFF, I received a call within hours!  The MRFF had contacted the medical center and noted that over 24 individuals had contacted them regarding this egregious display. I was not alone! Other patients and/or staff had expressed concerns about this display—concerns expressed by Christians, Jews, Muslims, agnostics and atheists.  The VA administration stated that the bibles were not placed there by any authorized group and would be immediately removed.

I want to thank you again for your amazing and immediate response.  Your actions will help assure that all our POWs/MIAs will be remembered and their families honored.

Respectfully,

[MRFF client(s) name(s) withheld]

Impact on the Value of Human Life

  • Human Rights. The concept of universal human rights and equality comes exclusively from the biblical idea that all people are created in the image of God.
  • Women. In ancient cultures, a wife was the property of her husband. Aristotle said that a woman was somewhere between a free man and a slave. According to the book Reasons for God by Tim Keller (page 249), "It was extremely common in the Greco-Roman world to throw out new female infants to die from exposure, because of the low status of women in society. The church forbade its members to do so. Greco-Roman society saw no value in an unmarried woman, and therefore it was illegal for a widow to go more than two years without remarrying. But Christianity was the first religion to not force widows to marry. They were supported financially and honored within the community so that they were not under great pressure to remarry if they didn't want to. Pagan widows lost all control of their husband's estate when they remarried, but the church allowed widows to maintain their husband's estate. Finally, Christians did not believe in cohabitation. If a Christian man wanted to live with a woman he had to marry her, and this gave women far greater security. Also, the pagan double standard of allowing married men to have extramarital sex and mistresses was forbidden. In all these ways Christian women enjoyed far greater security and equality than did women in the surrounding culture. See Rodney Stark, The Rise of Christianity." In India, widows were voluntarily or involuntarily burned on their husbands' funeral pyres. Christian missionaries were a major influence in stopping these century-old practices and ideas. "Replacing Bible with generic “book of faith”?"

Thursday, July 19, 2018

Subject: Replacing Bible with generic "book of faith"?
Date: July 19, 2018 at 2:37:16 PM MDT

So i seen an article that the Bible is being replaced by a generic "book of faith". If true, then what exactly is a "generic 'book of faith'"? A hardback book with empty pages from beginning to end? The islam book? Id like to know.

Try as yall might you can never take faith away from individuals, regardless of all the actions taken, your not taking my faith away or my Bible. One thing to make clear…..religion is man made. It is faith we live by, not religion. It is hope we live by, not religion. Religion can be many things. But faith comes from God, the Heavenly Father and Christ Jesus LORD and Saviour. The word Christian means Christ-like, it is also a relationship between an individual and Christ.

Sooo, i know who will be the ones to go throughout the US, from corners to corners and gather all those faithful including me, and kill us, like sheep to the slaughter….those in our active service that is hateful and evil and unsaved, all because the MRFF and everyone against the Bible and the LORD and His teachings are scared or have been givin to a reprobate mind. Just remember, when the day comes for Judgement, those that deny Christ will be denied by Christ Himself and be sent to everlasting punishment in Hell. No drop of water will quench the agony and torture and will never ease the suffering all because people decided to be OF the world and not OF God.

REPENT NOW AND ACCEPT THE LORD AS YPUR PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOUR! TIME IS RUNNING OUT!

Dont think you have plenty of time cuz it can very well end in an accident, illness or anythin that may come thats not good. The devil is real and he knows his time is running short…get saved while you still can

Have a Blessed dad

There are many Christians that support the Jewish people, like me.
You and your organization have changed my mind.
Now, I am thinking that some of the Jewish
conspiracy stories are probably true to some extent.
whereas before I just dismissed them as propaganda.

Atheism can not be true because you can not get
something from nothing (ex nihilo nihil fit)

Religious pluralism can not be true because contradicting
world views would be logically absurd.

Know that the information on your website has turned a
friend of the Jewish people to one that does not like them any longer.
