MRFF PRAISES AND SALUTES THE
VETERANS ADMINISTRATION AT THE MICHAEL E. DeBAKEY VA MEDICAL CENTER IN HOUSTON, TEXAS
Bible removed from POW/MIA Display Without Direct
MRFF Intervention
Monday, April 11, 2016
Statement by Mikey Weinstein, MRFF Founder and President
"On behalf of its 35 military veteran clients at this VA facility (22 of whom are practitioners of the Christian faith), the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) praises and salutes the Veterans Administration (VA) senior staff at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas for its commitment toward the Constitution's founding principles, and extols its own decision to remove the Christian bible from its POW/MIA "Missing Man" Memorial without a direct demand to do so from MRFF.
The Christian faith cannot remain supreme at the expense of suppressing all other faiths and no faith on government installations and facilities. POW's and MIA's come from myriad backgrounds, faiths, and no faith traditions, and their memory must never be commemorated by our nation's government with a blatant endorsement of only the majoritarian Christian faith in times, places, and manners that are violative of our brilliant United States Constitution.
Due to MRFF's recent string of successes, our efforts have resulted in a spate of victories in support of the Constitutional separation of church and state in VA and military facilities. We wholeheartedly commend the DeBakey Center's perspicacity in their unilateral decision and are thrilled with the momentum of Constitutional compliance resulting from our work across the country for our numerous veteran and armed forces clients."

"This is not persecution or victimization of Christianity," said Mikey Weinstein, MRFF’s leader. "This is simply an example where the Air Force should have a policy that makes it absolutely clear that nobody’s religious affiliation is on [exclusive] display."
